Q. Has the customs policy for EU orders changed?

An additional EU handling fee has also been introduced effective November 1, 2026.
Q. What exactly has changed?
Previously, orders valued under €150 (EUR) were exempt from customs duties. This duty exemption has now been abolished. A customs duty of €3 (EUR) is charged per product category (HS Code) included in your order.
Starting November 1, 2026, an additional €2 EU handling fee per customs declaration line item applies.
For orders under €150, this generally brings the combined charge to €5 per product category, where each category corresponds to one customs declaration line.

Q. What if my order is €150 or more?
The €2 EU handling fee applies regardless of order value.
Orders valued at exactly €150 are subject to both the €3 flat-rate customs duty and the additional €2 handling fee.
Orders above €150 are processed under standard customs procedures. Customs duties may vary depending on the product's origin and applicable trade agreements.
Products of Korean origin that qualify for duty exemptions under the Korea-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) may be exempt from customs duties. However, the €2 handling fee still applies.
Applicable charges are displayed under "Duties" at checkout and collected upfront by LEWKIN.
Please note that the €150 threshold is based on the merchandise value, excluding shipping.

Q. What is an HS Code?
An HS Code (Harmonized System Code) is an internationally standardized numerical method of classifying traded products for customs clearance.
Duties are calculated based on the number of unique HS Codes (product types) in your order, rather than the total number of individual items.
The EU handling fee is calculated based on customs declaration line items.

Example for Better Understanding
If your order under €150 contains both skincare products and makeup products classified under two different HS Codes and declared on separate lines:
Customs duty: €3 × 2 = €6
EU handling fee: €2 × 2 = €4
Total customs duties and handling fees: €10 (EUR)
The HS Code for each item is automatically classified by our system based on the product type. You do not need to check or select this manually.
Q. When do I pay the customs duty and handling fee?
Applicable customs duties and handling fees are automatically calculated and displayed under "Duties" on the checkout page along with your item total.
The handling fee is included in the Duties amount and will not appear as a separate line item.
These charges are paid upfront at the time of your order, allowing you to review the amount before completing your purchase.
